Air Cargo Outlook: Early Rebound, But Growth May Slow
While air cargo demand remains robust, some experts predict a softening in the coming months. As is typical post-holiday, air freight demand has dipped in the first weeks of January. However, this decline mirrors trends observed in 2023, according to Freightwaves.
Yet, as reported by The Loadstar (with data from the WorldACD), air freight tonnages have already rebounded from the end-of-year slump, surging by 8% in week 3 of 2025. But some experts predict that tonnage will not see as much growth this year as the sector did in 2024, largely due to inventory levels.
